Conclusion
People strive to achieve this "American Dream" this idea of a promise life, the ideal life, and although most of us won't be the one in a million and become the next billionaire, but we can strive to achieve our own personal goals. Poverty is a relentless cycle that most people are put into by society not by their own choices, things like sexuality, race, disabilities, gender, and birthplace, its almost like the deciding factor of your social status are the things we can't change about ourselves. Where and who we are born to determine our childhoods and from there you're almost always on your own to determine your fate, and in most cases that means never seeing a life outside of poverty. My original claim was that poverty is what's blocking people from the American Dream, but now I don't think that's entirely true, society has chosen what things make you undesirable, or a minority, and in turn not everyone is given equal rights. Our country was built on the saying " ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUALLY" but it is very evident that, that isn't true. Until all men and women are treated as equals no matter their race, sexuality, gender, etc,
there won't be equal opportunity for people to achieve the American Dream.
