This video is a series of interviews with families in the seminole county in florida who have all dealt with losing their homes and having to figure out their lives as homeless. You hear from the kids what it was like to become homeless and lose everything they have. Some lived in their cars and some like thousands of other homeless families moved into 1 room 2 room motels. In an interview with a group of children in the seminole public school questions like how many of you went to bed hungry this week or how many of you have had your lights turned off were met with almost every hand raised. Some of the kids even admitted that they felt responsible for their families situation because of the money that goes in to taking care of them.
Its a very sad an almost painful thing to see, children going through such harsh conditions but the fact of the matter is it's real. Children and their families are suffering and struggling to make it in this world. Whether it's a child going to bed hungry or doing their homework in the dark these kids aren't being given the opportunities that could allow them to rise from poverty. Most of these kids will receive a poor education or struggle more than others because of their situation at home, or the lack of one, and because of that won't be employed in a job that can support them. This video is a real eye opener to the pain and sadness that comes with being a child in poverty, there's no sugar coating, no skirting around the bush, you see the real disadvantage of being a kid that is living in poverty.
